Not really something we all think about until we are either too hot or too cold. The rest of the time, it just does its thing and nobody really gives it a second thought.
HVAC systems can be costly to replace and there are so many things that we can do to keep the lifeblood running through our units that have little cost, and demand little time.
For your system to run at peak performance, I recommend a licensed HVAC technician be consulted twice a year to clean and service your unit. They have the tools to properly check freon levels for potential pinhole leaks within the system that most homeowners just do not have. They can properly remove components to the system and clean dust and debris so they system can run unencumbered along with grease and oiling what needs to be. Routine maintenance can extend the lifespan of your system. We routinely inspect systems that are 15 years old and more. Those that are well cared for we have seen nearing 30 years old and still performing great. Just a little time and a little money can save you thousands.
